Goodreads Description

Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what’s normal when you’re a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who’s becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn’t ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary’s only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father.

To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings — and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?

My Review

My goodness!!! I know I am late to the game on reading this book but I am absolutely in love with this series. I am currently listening to it on audiobook. I watched the movie and am up to date with the show (which I love-so sorry ) and Jace is so much more … real in the books. I mean he actually says his true feelings to everyone rather than playing as though he were a soulless “too cool for school” jerk. I really am loving the characters even more and just want to read it all NOW!! In the rare case that you haven’t read it, I’m not going to put spoilers but I will say READ THIS SERIES!!!!!!!!

Rating: 4/5 stars

  1. Is it too late now to say ‘WELCOME TO THE CLUB’ as you’re already in the second book? But anyway, I love this series too!! Can’t wait for you to read the CoG because I think there’s gonna be A LOT more conflicts! 😜 Happy reading!
